Beginning of Beginnings

Many things are beginning. Right now in my life, the beginning of beginnings seems to be happening. Multiple things I am involved with provide further options and exciting outcomes. One thing that that is completed and could begin great things is the ACT! A few weekends ago my family and I went down to the twin cities and I took the ACT at Como Park High School! It was a very interesting experience. As I left the room, after taking the test, I realized that I was in the minority. Being a part of the minority makes one feel as though they have more of a unique background culturally...very cool to experience! I think it would be an interesting experience to be a minority constantly. Maybe someday I'll live in a place where I am the minority. Finishing the ACT is a relief and makes me feel as though many doors are 'beginning' to open.
Another thing that is beginning to open doors is
music. As I 'begin' to put myself 'out there' I feel as though I might have a chance as a musician someday. I think with a little education I will exponentially expand my skills. As I write new songs I see that as a songwriter I am becoming better both with my words and music. Songwriting is one of the things in my life that makes me feel as though I can make a difference in the world. I hope that someday I write a song that can change the way people think and look at the world. I hope it helps people see the good in life and be positive to new experiences and thoughts. Last week I had the opportunity to camp out in Fergus Falls for my WSI training one night. I spent my time finishing my incomplete songs and polishing some of my older ones. I had a great time and began to work up the nerve to try to get out and perform in small venues such as coffee shops. I researched some on Saturday and found a few that might be open to me playing in their shops. The next step is to call them up and see what they say.
My YouTube videos have been going well. Each one has over fifty views and the numbers are still growing. Bubble Toes has had over 300 views. Check out all my videos on the 'Videos' tab or at http://www.youtube.com/user/teeps37. I will be posting more. Not quite sure of what the next one will be though. Maybe "Your Love is Strong" by Jon Foreman, or a song by The Beatles. If you have any input on song choice, give it :)
Saturday was eventful. I got some Vibrams for running. These...shoes provide cushion so you can run 'barefoot' but still have your feet covered and protected. They are very interesting and give the calves a great workout. (I'm still sore from Saturday and I only ran 2 miles) I will probably use these in my training for the cross country season two or three times a week.
A great summer read is The Advantures of Tom Sawyer. I've had this book sitting on my desk for a year (since last year's production of Big River, in which I played Tom Sawyer.) Right now I am reading deeper into the story and enjoying it a lot. The funny things Tom is getting himself into are perfect for remembering what I used to be like when I was younger. I wish that the public schools would emphasize reading the 'classics', because there are so many good books that come from all time periods of writing.
Tomorrow I plan to contact Seattle Pacific University to get more information on attending that school. Right now it is on the top of my list! Also I might contact Belmont University, another one up with Seattle Pacific on my list. Hopefully I can give them good reason to want me to attend their schools from the 'beginning'.
As I close this post I will say, this is only the beginning of many posts to come. Otherwise I may lose myself in the summer. I will try to post at least weekly to keep up on more current events.
